Rajasthani women plant locally appropriate indigenous tree species to stave off the Prosopis invasion, under the able stewardship of Durgeshnandini Rathore of the Jodhpur royal family, and owners of Bagheera's Camp are carrying out a wider campaign for habitat conservation through local ground action. They don't just preach but do and carry out what they believe in, in a scientific fashion... Local trees are best at dealing with our climate and supporting local bird and insect species, do not kill off other indigenous tree species and are good for the soil and water conservation.
