Gali Janardhan Reddy’s daughter Brahmani Reddy married Rajeev Reddy, son of Andhra businessman Panyam Vikram Deva Reddy, who has mining interests in Africa. The extravagant wedding (rumoured to have cost US$80 million or over Rs. 500 crores), at a time when the BJP government has initiated a demonetisation exercise to flush out black money, came in for a lot of criticism. A wedding extravaganza, estimated to have cost about Rs 100 crore, organised by former BJP minister in Karnataka, Gali Janardhan Reddy, for his daughter concluded at the Palace Grounds in Bengaluru.
