Haji Abdul Rasool Sayyaf is one of the veterans of that campaign. Years later he also resisted the advancing forces of Taliban in his province of Paghman, a two-hour drive from Kabul. For Sayyaf, the war against the Soviet Red Army and the war against the Taliban were both a Jihad. Sayyaf:"To attack on innocent people, to do aggression on other innocent nations and people.
