An Indian and a Bhutanese pilot prepare their cockpit for take-off from Bhutan's only large airport at Paro. This Airbus A319 DrukAir or Royal Bhutan Airlines flight will fly straight to New Delhi. See the view from the cockpit as the engines strain to raise the plane from 7000 feet to over 20, 000 feet altitude in a matter of minutes, to be able to escape the circle of high peaks around the valley. The plane goes all the way to the end of the runway prior to takeoff, in order to use every inch of runway to gain speed for the tumultuous takeoff and sudden altitude gain.
