This is how voters vote during elections before the electronic ballot boxes were introduced by the Election Commission. Voters in India verify their names in the electoral roll at their respective polling stations to be allowed to vote. Polling officers prepare ballot papers while voters get their index fingers marked with electoral ink to avoid electoral fraud such as double votes. Close ups of the ballot box which is a metallic box where the voters put their ballot papers marked with the political party they choose to vote for. Mysore Paints and Varnish is the only company in India autorised to produce the indelible ink in India used for elections.
