Ravi Shankar Prasad on being a Minister of Coal and Mine, "I would like to tell you a few things about Ministry of Coal and Mine. This year, Coal India has recorded a profit of Rs. 1,754 Crores. Last year, however, we were at a loss of Rs. 1,414 Crores. But we were able to achieve the highest profit in the history of Coal India as we produced 279 million tonnes of coal this year, which is the highest in the past 50 years. We are now stressing on better production, professionalism and efficiency. Along with this, we are also emphasizing on providing and maintaining better working conditions for our employees and their families.
