Folk dancers of Chattisgarh performing Kaksar dance form on Bharat Parv at Garden of Five Senses in Delhi. Kaksar dance is performed by the Abhujmaria tribe of Bastar in Chattisgarh.The dance is performed to invoke Kaksar the deity. The dancer tie tinkling bells of different sizes on their waist.The boys and girls perform this dance and it gives opportunity to unmarried ones to choose their life partner. Kaksar dance is performed during the festival period. Kaksar dance is performed in hope of reaping a rich harvest. To invoke the blessings of the deity, young boys and girls perform Kaksar (a group dance). Boys put on a peculiar costume of a long white robe while girls are clad in all their finery. The Kaksar dance presents a unique opportunity to boys and girls to choose their life partne
