The Pariah Kite or Small India Kite is common in Urban areas and acts as a scavenger. Adapting well to urban conditions, it thrives in Delhi where a good number of the species are seen. This one here is filmed alone and wading in the watery ditch left by summer showers. The name 'Pariah Kite' has been used widely although it is also called the Small Indian Kite after suggestions for a more neutral name since 'Pariah' has a caste prejudice connotation to it.
