A group of male dancer amazingly performs Jhakri folk dance from Mauritius, an island nation in the Indian Ocean. The group dance involves men singing live and performing in a circle and dance around a dholak player and they play instruments like jhal (hand cymbals) and chimta (tongs). Jhakri is a popular folk dance in Mauritius and it is performed during festivals like Shimga and Ganeshotsav. The Jhakri dance forms are unique and classic. This is an amazing cultural dance that is getting extinct in Konkan region which is also registering the presence all across seven seas of Mauritius.
