Japan's GOYOKAI group and Indian classical dancers share stage in Delhi

As part of the Japan Festival, the Japan Foundation, New Delhi presents, GOYOKAI Nihon Buyo (Traditional Japanese Dance) Dance) with Kathak and Indian Classical Music. Goyakai is a group of celebrated Japanese Traditional dancers. The groups consist of five dancers from different schools and family lineages of the Japanese traditional dance, nihou buyoh, who are taking a lead in furthering Japanese traditional dance. Representing the quintessence of classical Japanese dance, their performances vary, from the pieces derived from Kabuki, their original work and the elegant zakshikimai, the dance traditionally intended to be performed only in tatami rooms. The artists have worked together to create new performances pieces and present to the Indian audience since 2016. The pieces are ‘sambaso’
