Night view of Jagannath Temple, we see its illuminate by lights during the Jagannath Rath Yatra . Devotees throng the temple to seek blessings from Lord Jagannath. The Temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. It was the year 1946, when our country was on the eve of independence, that a few odia members of the Central Assembly together with odia employees of the Central Government, Government offices met at Rouse Avenue and decided to form an Association of the odias in Delhi with the primary objective of promoting the rich cultural and heritage of Odisha in the capital. The Association named 'Utkal Association' was formed in April 1946, with late Shri Krupasindhu Misra,I.C.S. as its President and Sri Krushna Chandra Palai as its Secretary.
