Archival footage of the City Civil and Sessions Court in Mumbai, sa filmed on 20 09 98. Lawyers enter the premises of the old heritage building. Photo copy machine vendors do brisk business, typists prepare documents, legal office assistants mill around, and other board buses to leave when their work gets done. Stamp paper is purchased and typed up on, by good old typewriter wallahs, a practice that continues to date in courts across India. The digital and electronic transition has been slow, esp. on site where people work from pavements and the street, for quick documentation and document preparation.
