At the National Aquarium Abu Dhabi, Chinese stripe-necked turtles, also known as golden thread turtles, are displayed in a freshwater habitat exhibit. These turtles are native to regions of China, Vietnam, and Korea. They are identified by fine yellow and black stripes along their necks. The species is omnivorous during early life stages and becomes primarily herbivorous as it matures. Due to habitat loss and exploitation, they are classified as critically endangered in their natural range.
