Wedding reception - Mangani Chakkouba 'Magani' meaning '5th day' and 'Chakkouba' meaning 'invititation to a feast'. On the 5th day, after a Manipuri wedding, the Manipuri bride's parents host a feast at their residence. The bride and groom and their in-laws and relatives and friends from both sides are invited to take part in the feast. Varieties of traditional fishes and veg dishes are cooked. An interesting fact about Manipuri feasts is that all the invitees sit together in rows and eat. After this feast, the bride cannot visit her parent's until another ceremony which is organised one month after the wedding.
