The OP Baba Mandir is a unique spiritual site located at the base of the mighty Siachen Glacier. The approach to the shrine features a paved walkway lined with low red walls, covered by a sloping roof supported by green and red pillars. Along the path, colourful Buddhist prayer flags flutter continuously in the cold mountain wind, believed to carry prayers and blessings across the harsh terrain. Small hanging bells add a gentle soundscape, ringing softly as the wind passes through. Inside, the shrine is dedicated to OP Baba (Om Prakash), a revered figure believed by soldiers of the Indian Army to protect and watch over them in the extreme conditions of the glacier. The atmosphere is deeply spiritual, blending faith, tradition, and the realities of one of the world’s highest battlefields. T
