Sikkim remains a favorite destination for those in search of exotica and larger cultures to the predominant mode of Buddhism, all of its splendid splendor. The rich brocades and the rituals all contrasted the sense of tranquility. In the eastern part of India thanked by Bhutan and Nepal, Sikkim is girdled in a protective embrace by the Himalayan range and Mount Kanchenjunga, the world's third highest mountain find the pride of place in both the city's folklore as well as the consciousness of its people.
