A woman on the way to Auroville Camp in between Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry rides of a motorcycle along the red muddy road. Another sari clad woman sweeps the courtyard of the cafe inside the township and arranges the merchandise for sale in outside the cafe. Auroville is designed as a universal community with a vast expanse of forest cover and acceptance of all communities, religions and nationalities. It was founded by Mirra Alfassa in the 1960s aimed at creating a utopian society. Auroville is also called 'The city of Dawn'.
