Ratan Tata speaks about the launch of Tata Motor's new sedan car. He says, "When a company commences into a new business you can never look at entering with a single module and a hope to survive. You have to look at and how much of a total range you will be able to offer the public and the most efficient way to do that is to use as few platforms or make the greatest use of the platforms that you have. The Indica which is the first small car which we have produced, we produced with a view that it would be a platform that would provide in there with many derivatives both in terms of sedans, station wagon maybe some sports utility vehicles all of which could be built on the same platform using many common parts and if you look closely at this sedan really up to the rear doors is the Indica.
