The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) returns with its float in the Republic Day parade after 20 long years. The tableau shows the ITBP troops patrolling the China border on their newly-inducted snow scooters. Significantly, the ITBP is the only paramilitary or border guarding forces to have a tableau in the parade. The float rolled down the Rajpath to the tune of the song 'Hum Sarhad Ke Senani' sung by Sonu Nigam. The tableau showcased armed troops riding snow scooters, provided by the government to the ITBP in 2017 as part of modernising the force, troops patrolling on foot and snow bunkers of the personnel deployed in the icy heights of the frontier.
