For Hindus, the cow is the symbol of motherhood and giver of life. For more than 4000 years, cattle are an integral part of rural life in India providing milk, dung and pulling plows and carts. A Hindu would never sell his cows or buffalos to a butcher. Therefore brokers of the meat and leather industry use tricks to buy animals." Cow owner says " The brokers lie to them that they are going to use this cattle for farming and they sell it to slaughterhouses."
