Shekpin or the Manipuri prayer flags surrounding the dancers as they perform Nitya Raas, a form of Raas Leela which is based on the life of Lord Krishna from the Ramayanas. The performance is led by Manipuri dancer Sinam Basu Singh. A female dancer portraying lord Krishna and the other dancers portraying Radha and Krishna's female company. The costume is unique with stiff skirts with sparkling embroidery. The jewellery is traditional to Manipur. The Khajuraho Dance Festival is held annually at the Khajuraho Western Group of Temples in Madhya Pradesh. The dance festival is celebrated with grandeur among the beautiful Hindu and Jain Temples.
