Gaddi-Bhotia sheep-dog hybrids are a common sight on Himalayan meadows and some of them can be quite fierce and territorial! But this one was friendly and decided to attach itself to our group and trekked along with them for a full week, dropping off at the road-head and undoubtedly attaching itself to the next trekking group heading back in the return direction, being fed and given shelter along the way... Ah, the life of a travelling sheep-dog! A splendid natural scenery on the trek to Gidara and Dayara Bugyal from Barsu village in Uttarakashi district in Uttarakhand. Flowers are at full bloom in the meadows of these basins. Specially in the monsoon and post monsoon season. Wild furry dogs generally follow trekkers to their camps and stay with them.
