An evening view of India Gate which looks rather majestic, with children and families enjoying evening relaxation in an open and grand public space. There is a lawn on both sides of Rajpath and people love coming here for the cool breeze and the snacks and the wares of knick-knack sellers. A summer evening is the best time to enjoy the surroundings of India Gate. At the centre of New Delhi stands the 42 m high India Gate, an "Arc-de-Triomphe" like archway in the middle of a crossroad. Almost similar to its French counterpart, it commemorates the 70,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the British Army during the World War I.
