I used to do small-time modelling in Delhi, just to kill time, as I ever went to college. What could you do to occupy yourself and earn good pocket money. I wanted to be a journalist. Sujit sir directed a Cadbury's ad that he was directing. He was making this film on Kashmir and he wanted me to play a Kashmiri girl. I was not sure that this is what I was supposed to do. I asked my friends about Sujit and his company. They told me he was a great filmmaker and I should do it... I never ever thought I would be in films. I knew how difficult it was for people to get into films. If you are not from a filmy background and have no connections, and have no desire to be a star, then there is no point in coming to Mumbai and trying to make it... I had a big reality check when going to do the film. T
