Ethnic wear showcased by Lamkang and Vaiphei tribe from Chandel district during Sangai festival in Manipur. Lamkang: Lamkang or Lamgang Tribe is a group that divided from the Anal Tribe of Manipur and inhabits most of the southern districts of the state. They call themselves, the Kasen. The tribe is abundant in Chakpikarong, Kakching Khunou and scattered in 24 other villages. They speak Meiteilon while talking to others. Lamgang dialect is similar to Anal, Moyon and Monsang dialects. Vaiphei Tribe: Vaiphei Tribe inhabit the Churachandpur district in Manipur. Apart from Manipur, they are also located in different parts of Myanmar and Bangladesh. The origin of the name 'Vaiphei' is still debated but the general understanding is that the name derived from a village called Khawvaiphei in Burma
