Indian Athelete Jyotirmoyee Sikdar being interviewed at Subaha Savere, DD National, morning show. She said it was a moment of pride when she won the Gold medals in 800 m and 1500 m events in the 1998 Asian Game. Born and raised from a small town from West Bengal she said that the journey was tough as girls were not allowed to participate in sports. Jyotirmoyee Sikdar has been an Indian Athlete and has brought the nation laurels by grabbing Gold Medals at Bangkok Asian Games 1998. She was born on the 11th of December 1969 at Debagram, a small town in the Nadia district of West Bengal. Jyotirmoyee had Athletics and sports spirit running through her veins as her father had himself been a former Pole Vaulter. She made her tryst with Athletics at a very young age, and Satyaram Roy, her mentor
