Sitting on a cypress tree, this preening Black-crowned Jay has its inner down feathers exposed and blowing in the wind, creating a blur of blue and rust... This bird is protected, just like the Red-billed Blue Magpie you see afterwards, at the Wilderness Orchard and botanical gardens in Uttarakhand.
