Assamese dance known as Jhumur dance rock the satge at the Sangai Fest'13,Imphal. Jhumur Nach is a genre of folk dance performed by young girls of Assam and certain north-eastern states. Assam is one of the crucial tea producing states in India and plays a major role exporting teas internationally. The tea gardens of north-eastern state of Assam are one of the largest tea producing areas in the world. The laborers that work in the tea plantations are descendents who were brought to the state by East India Company. The people who descended from them are now known as the tea tribes of Assam. About two million labor-class people rely on the tea estates for their livelihood. Jhumur Nach ( dance ) is such a splendid cultural dance of tea garden workers of Assam
