The Idea of India published in 1997 was translated in Hindi as 'Bharatnama' and it was released by Namwar Singh in Delhi. This book was considered as the development of India after independence. The writer of the book Sunil Khilnani is the Professor of Political Science at Birkbeck College in London. Famous Hindi writers were present at the release of the book. Sunil Khilnani, writer of The Idea of India speaks about the book. He says, "Hindi is the largest language in our country and it was very important for me to reach Hindi readership. I am very glad and delighted that its translation has now appeared."
