Mr. Hari Dang says that St. Paul's School is not only very old, having shifted from Calcutta to Darjeeling in Brian Hodgson's days in the 1860s, but also developed as an Anglo - Indian institution for the children of British expatriates and others and has grown into an Indian public school of high expectations and traditional excellence, both academic and extra - curricular. There is an increasing number of good schools all over India, but St. Paul's has a long tradition of very diverse intake of children from all over the world. Mr. Hari Dang remembers the children from Borneo, the children from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, the children from Singapore, Thailand, lots of children from the United Kingdom and America and Europe, as well as from all over India, which is very unique for any schoo
