Don't get us wrong - this is not how every Indian train commuter gets to work or home... This is just one vision of India, albeit a truly dystopian one, at that! People sit on the train tracks for lack of a better space. Dogs hang around and just about dodge incoming trains. People jump across the train tracks before an incoming train. And train travel itself is an ugly, crude process with people crowding onto the haunches and sides of the train, occupying just about every outer cavity they can squat into. This is the sad reality of the underbelly of India... and very much a part of these peoples' lives. And yet they find happiness and contentment within their lives - somewhere!
