Bhutan have strong methods of cultural preservation This cham dance in honour of Buddhist Saint Padmasambhava, popularly known as ‘Guru Rimpoche’ (Padmasambhava, Pema Jugne). The performance draws hundreds of people in a spirit of blessing and is one of the best ways to discover the rich cultural heritage of Bhutan. The cham dance comes to life with colour, music, dance and drama as people gather to witness the dance and other sacred rituals. This performance is performed by monks and the royal dancers of Bhutan commonly known as RAPA (The Royal Academy of Performing Arts)in colourful Gho and different costumes instructing audience about the Buddhist Dharma.
