An artisan in India puts patterns on a garment through block printing. The prints are done entirely by hand with blocks of wood with patterns carved on it are used to put designs. The artisan press the block of wood with the desired colour on the cloth and the impression of the design on the garment. Block printing has been an age-old tradition among weavers and artisans in India. It is one of the oldest form of depiction of history and culture in clothing and other garments in India.
