A walk through the French Riviera, beginning in Cimiez, a historic hillside district of Nice, France, known for its Belle Époque architecture, landscaped streets and Roman remains. Grand buildings with slate domes, wrought-iron balconies and ornate stonework stand among palms, pines and flowering trees, while the nearby Roman ruins of Cemenelum include weathered walls and arches from the ancient settlement. The route then continues to Villefranche-sur-Mer, France, where sailboats and yachts sit in the sheltered bay beneath green hills, and terracotta-roofed buildings line the harbourfront. The footage also passes a hillside cemetery overlooking the town, with terraced graves, flowers, and cypress trees characteristic of Mediterranean landscapes.
