Everyone was excited on the morning of 26th January but at 8 am such a tremor came in the Bhuj of Gujarat and neighbouring areas that the whole city was devastated. The most destructive earthquake occurred and it changes the entire complete picture of the area in the flash of an eye. According to the technique of the weather department of India, the intensity of the earthquake on the Richter scale was measured to be 6.9. Several lakhs of people died and thousands were injured in this fierce earthquake. some newspapers declared to be the intensity to be 7.9 on the Richter's scale.
