What happened to Kerala in terms of tourism friendliness and cleanliness? This October 2018 view of Fort Kochi, supposedly one of the most well-kept and tourism-friendly locales, shows an altogether different picture. The sea beach is littered with thermocol and plastic and sundry other urban waste, and the sand is obliterated by this picture of neglect.
