Dera Sacha Sada head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was arrested on a charge of rape, castration, and murder. The day he was presented to the court in Panchkula in Haryana his followers protested causing violence. Police and RPF personnel tried to maintain peace and order. They had to shoot firearms in order to control the situation. Several buses were broken and numerous people were injured. The injured people were taken to a hospital for treatment. The Haryana police arrested a close associate of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in Sirsa on the charge that he castrated several followers of the religious sect.In 2002, an anonymous letter took on Gurmeet Ram Rahim and Dera Sacha Sauda with allegations of rape against the "messenger of God". The letter, purportedly written by a sadh
