Many cars, taxis and trucks have Indian flags waving in the wind, atop them. National spirit and pride are high, at least in the capital city. A woman sells flags with her child in her arms. Has she really experienced independence, though? She seems to be living on the edge of food security, medical support and does not even have a family home. Her kid is brought up on the footpath.
