Lakhamandal, a historical place in Uttarakhand is located 128 kilometer away from Dehradun en route Yamunotri. According to Hindu mythology, Kauravas build the palace of Lac to kill Pandavas. There are still temples of Lord Shiva and Parshuram made by Pandavas. This place is the home of ancient Jaunsari tribe. Ukhimath is located 40 kilometer from Lakhamandal. The temple in Ukhimath is an example of Bodh architecture.
