Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Patnaik created a giant Santa Claus out of the sand on Puri beach on 24th December 2018 and decorated it with more than 10,000 plastic bottles. Besides extending festive greetings to beach-goers through his work, Patnaik has tried to sensitize the people to the ill-effects of plastic on the environment.
