The results of the assembly elections to the four Indian states of Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram that went to the polls were declared this week. The Bhartiya Janata Party which lead the coalition government of the center suffered major setbacks in these elections losing the states of Rajasthan and Delhi where it heads the government to the Congress party. The virtual rout of the BJP in these assembly elections trigger of speculation of possible Congress attempt to stabilize the central government. However, the Congress President Sonia Gandhi dispelled the rumors stated that the party would not make an attempt to destroy the government.
