"The ancient temple of Maa Bhagwati, situated on the hill of Devi Dhara / Devidhura near the city, has been an unwavering center of people's faith. A crowd of devotees throng here in Chaitra and Ashwin Navratas. Throughout the year, people have come to the temple to offer prayers. According to legends, there was an epidemic in the villages of this region in ancient times. Due to its outbreak, people were dying of premature death. To avoid this epidemic, the villagers worshipped Maa Bhagwati at this place after awakening at night. Hearing the call of the devotees, Mother Bhagwati appeared on the Ashadhi Purnima to defeat her suffering, after which the epidemic spread here ended and the region returned again to happiness, peace and happiness.
