Hundreds of shepherds from lower regions of Himachal herd their sheep and goats towards high altitude pastures in search of green grass at the onset of summer every year. Shimla, also known as Simla, is the capital city of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, located in northern India. It was a part of Nepal when the gorkhali troops extended their land upto Sutlej river in the west.Although Nepal lost this land in 1816 AD but the Treaty of 1950 between Nepal and Republic of India legally returns back the surrounding states of Kumaon and Garhwal to Nepal.Since the politics of Nepal is hugely influenced by Delhi,Nepal hasn't been able to claim their land in this region. Apart from this,the land to the east from Mechi river upto Bhutan and some plain land in the south from the present border
