The ritual of doing 'Havan' during prayer at home is done as an inhalation therapy derived from Vedas, it relaxes the mind and heals the body with positive effects, spiritually, because of the holy verses chanted during the havan. The host family of Ganpati idol along with their neighbors and relatives thank the idol and seek his blessings on the day of Ganesh Visarjan, i.e., Last day of Ganesh Chaturthi festive days. From Ganesh Chaturthi, the day when the elephant god is made to settle in the house, till the 11th day when he is submerged into water, the family worships to him every day. The special sweet for the festival is called 'Modak', offered to the god during prayer.
