Dayara Bugyal is a classic trek for trekkers keen to discover the outdoors and experience the mighty Himalayas at high altitude. “Bugyal” in the native language stands for a “high altitude meadow”. Dayara Bugyal & Bedni Bugyal are listed among the few largest and well known meadows in the Garhwal Himalayas. Situated at an elevation of 3048m, Dayara Bugyal is second to none in natural beauty. On the onset of winters they transform into ideal ski slopes over an area of about 28 sq km. A ropeway from the road head at Barsu to the ski slopes has long being promised by the state government.
