Dance troupe from Mizoram performs a creative take on a Mizo Cheraw dance at the 6th edition of International Dance and Music Festival organised by ICCR (Indian Council of Cultural Relations) in Delhi. One viewer suggests that the dancers are from JN Dance Academy and the dance is a fusion of Manipuri, Mizo and Naga dance and not only the dance but the music too. This is not the usual Cheraw dance. Instead, it has been stylised with a twist. Cheraw dance is performed by both males and females of Mizoram. Use of the bamboo staves is the unique trait of the dance of Cheraw in Mizoram. Cheraw Dance in Mizoram is characterized by the use of bamboo staves which are kept in cross and horizontal forms on the ground.
