Surajkund Mela is a festival held for 15 days showcasing Indian handicrafts, music, food and dance. People flock around the shops set up in the mela and are never disappointed with the craft surrounding them. Suresh from Tripura says "I received the National award for canine and bamboo jewellery items like necklace, earrings, bangles and rings. I also make wall hangings, bag, curtains, baskets, lampshade and carvings." A splash of colours, rhythm of drum beats and joy de-Vivre merge at Surajkund in Faridabad, Haryana during the first fortnight of each February. The curtains go up on the acclaimed annual Surajkund International Crafts Mela every year, a celebration of Indian folk traditions and cultural heritage.
