The Neemrana Music Foundation performs 'The Fakir of Benares' during the celebration of 10th Anniversary Gala Show at Weightlifting Hall JN Stadium Complex, New Delhi. About the opera: The Fakir of Benares (1922) by Leo Manuel Orchestration: Frederic Ligier Arrival of the Fakir in Benares and first miracle - Vikrant Subramanian (Fakir), Sparsh Bajpai (Maina), Choir Dances by Malti Shyam and Sumudra The first opera ever performed in Delhi has touched the imagination of many, with its poetic magic on the backdrop of the Benares ghats. The scene takes place among a colourful crowd worshipping the Sun. A dancer is performing (kathak dancer Malti Shyam) and suddenly trips and falls. The Fakir applies his magic potion on the broken limb, and while the villagers fall asleep, the magic starts work
