An innovative bike taxi service — Baxi — was formally launched on Monday to improve last-mile connectivity in the city. In the first phase, 23 bike taxis are being launched and the service can be used for short distances ranging from 3-5 km. Residents can give a call on 7799777848 or use the app to book a Baxi. Payment can be done using the Baxi wallet or cash. The concept of two-wheeler taxi service has been a hit in cities such as Hanoi, Bangkok, London, Sao Paulo and Goa. The company is planning to increase the number of bikes to 500 over the next three months. Baxi raised $1.5 million in Seed funding to launch the service in Gurgaon.
