Dr. Chandan Mitra- an Indian journalist, editor and managing director of The Pioneer newspaper in Delhi, India speaks on the foreign ownership of media in India. He says," Foreign ownership is obviously no but foreign equity participation in the media I think would be most well. I am in favor of foreign equity participation in every branch of activity including the print medium and I fail to see why a distinction should be made between the electronic medium and the print medium when it comes to foreign equity participation. There is a clear case of double standards here either as a matter of policy in accordance with 1956 cabinet resolution we say no foreign participation in the media at all but to allow an electronic medium and not allow it in print if I think this against me and it's the
